In high demand for the foreseeable future, the job of a cloud architect presents countless opportunities for growth and innovation. Cloud architects are accountable for taking care of a company’s cloud architecture. The career of a cloud architect involves working in a wide range of situations and being able to learn new technologies to adapt to their ever-evolving industry be open to understanding the distinctive demands of each project.

Because each project is different, the ability and desire to learn helps both entry-level and experienced cloud architects. Researching new solutions and features through trusted blogs and forums should be a habit of anyone working in this profession. With a healthy level of curiosity, cloud architects are well equipped to solve new and emerging problems, which inevitably come up.

Time Management

As with most people working in tech, cloud architects should have good time management abilities. The typical day of a cloud architect is varied and often hectic. It can include meeting with clients to talk about issues. It can also include designing intricate frameworks to meet the needs of a client or working on a migration. Because of this, cloud architects must be able to plan out their day, week and even month. They must also be able to stick to their plan, prioritizing tasks, making adjustments and optimizing even the smallest pockets of unstructured time.

Whether they are an independent contractor, part of a cloud services company or part of a massive corporation, a cloud architect must interact with many different stakeholders, from those who pay them directly, to marketing professionals, to executive making decisions on cloud vendors. Cloud architects should always be ready to communicate their work in business terms to all kinds of stakeholders. Successful cloud architects understand how to communicate technical details to people with little or no technical know-how, while keeping the focus on business goals and the bottom-line.
